An Overture To Meshworking
Russell Miyaki, VP, National Interactive Creative Director and Louis Vong, VP, Interactive Strategy – TMP Worldwide

What is marketing? Well, it's a practice that's part storytelling and part consumer anthropology. It involves studying behaviors and motivations and tapping into an ongoing dialogue. The thing is, this discourse now exists in a whole new realm – one rooted in Web 2.0 technology. The world is more open than ever, social media is omnipresent, and people are coalescing in ways once unimaginable. In this day and age, 10 minutes of uploaded fame can mean a lifetime of pop culture infamy. Join us as we meander through these new mediums and show how they can enhance your recruitment strategy.

9:15 – 10:00
What's Now @ Google?
Jason Katcher, Manager of Education and Recruitment Advertising – Google
Jason will expand on navigating the waters of search engine marketing using Google beyond keywords. By utilizing display advertising and properties like Feedburner & YouTube, you will learn new ways to reach both active and passive talent. By better understanding how to leverage the Google media platform, marketing avenues that have been rarely leveraged can become highly targeted delivery tools. This session will include time set aside to answer questions from the audience.

10:00 – 10:45
What’s Next @ Google?
Various Google Product Managers/Subject Matter Experts
Considering that Google's reputation hinges on their continuous creation of off-the-hook-web technology, it's safe to say they've got some rabbits up their sleeve. They also have products and services currently that you may not know how to use. So key experts within Google will introduce many of them and give you a 'peek behind the curtain' of cool stuff that could definitely enhance your recruitment platform.

10:45 – 11:30
TMP - Seeing is Believing
Matt Lamphear, VP, Interactive Products and Kevin McCarthy, Product Manager, Search Engine Marketing – TMP Worldwide
At TMP, we pride ourselves on providing strategies and solutions that balance innovation with practicality (e.g., ROI). TMP will go over trends and results we've helped our clients garner with this 'New Media' phenomenon – various pay-per-click media (including Google), social media, and more. We'll discuss tactics, best practices and give you cases where some stuff worked and other stuff didn't.

Exercising The Brainwaves
Entire Group – led By Russell Miyaki, VP, National Interactive Creative Director and Louis Vong, VP, Interactive Strategy – TMP Worldwide

"If at first an idea is not absurd, there is no hope for it." – Albert Einstein

Time to roll up your sleeves and loosen your lobes. No, not your ears – your cranium. Leave any preconceived notions of right and wrong at home, because in this session, TMP will introduce the concept of meshworking. This interactive session will essentially be a brainstorm where we'll all learn, dream up and put into context future solutions for sourcing. You'll be broken up into teams, and you'll also be challenged to balance your left brain with your right as we mesh new ideas together and (hopefully) create the next BIG IDEA.

2:45 – 3:30
The Sum of the Parts?
Entire Group
Now that you've invented a better mousetrap, we want to hear about it. Your group will share a few of your best ideas during the final session of the day. We'll then wrap up with Q&A and let you get home to conquer the world.

Event Prep:

Mental-Mesh Prep 101
Before you embark on the full-blown Meshworking experience, we want you primed up and raring to go. Don't be nervous – just test your social networking and Web 2.0 expertise, see how you do, and realize that you will soon know much more. Good luck!

Loosen Up Your Lobe
We want all of our attendees to get the most out of this special, custom-made event. Of course, you do too, so begin to prepare your brain (cortex and lobe included) for the unexpected elevations that we'll soon traverse together.

Meshworking is all about ideas colliding and new ways of thinking and recruiting turned upside down. That's why it will be so beneficial and eye-opening for you to meet and share with other recruitment folks from different companies and industries.

Where Does The Internet Fall Short?
As we all know, even the ol' WWW has its shortcomings. Well, we want to know what you think they are and what you see as obstacles and limitations to utilizing the web for recruitment purposes. So give it some thought and bring your laundry list on June 4th.

QR Codes – What The Heck Are They?
Well, they look a bit like normal barcodes, and they are scannable. However, you won't find them on the bottom of a cereal box – but you could. Confused? Well, don't be. We'll explain.

QR codes are 2-D bar codes used to push custom messages to a user's mobile phone. Before using QR Codes, you must first download the QR scanning technology onto your camera-ready phone. You then take a photo of the QR code, and this will launch the decoding application.

OK, so with that brief tutorial, we ask that you download Scanlife – which is a FREE piece of mobile software. You can text the word 'scan' to the shortcode 70734 or type into your mobile phone web browser the URL http://www.getscanlife.com and just follow the instructions.
